Are you looking to travel abroad but also wanting to make sure you get value for money? With so many holiday bargains on the market, it’s difficult and sometimes tricky to know where to start. Whether you’re travelling solo, with children, long haul or city break, we have some top tips to help you find the right deal.

Tip 1: Search comparison sites

Always check online comparison sites for the latest deals. There are a number of these available, such as TravelSupermarket, GoCompare, Skyscanner and Icelolly, where you can browse destinations, hotels and flights for the best prices in the market.

Tip 2: Talk to your local travel agent

They are travel experts so it’s always worth double checking with travel agents to see what offers or exclusive deals they have. It’s known that they can come down on prices, so go on, try to haggle and you could save a good chunk of cash!

Tip 3: Clear your cookies before booking

This is probably the most important tip when booking online, especially if you’ve been searching the web for flights/hotels before. Cookies are data which is stored in your browser that tell the websites you visit where you have been on the internet. Clearing them stops the websites from knowing you have visited previously and, in the case of holidays, could reduce chances of your price increasing.

Tip 4: Check for discount codes

Sometimes discount codes are not clearly advertised on travel websites so we recommend searching through the main websites such as VoucherCodes and vouchercloud. They may not always prove fruitful, but it’s worth it if you find a code that works.

Tip 5: Do your research

As well as comparing websites and offers, always research the travel company you are booking with too. Do they have good or bad reviews? Are they ATOL or ABTA protected? ATOL and ABTA protection ensures that customers will be looked after in case the company lets its customers down, they’re stranded overseas, or they get their money back if the holiday has to be cancelled.

Tip 6: Don’t get ripped off

It’s true what they say, if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is! Double check the finer details such as transfers, baggage allowance and public transport, so you know how much to budget before you travel. Always look at what’s included, or not included, when booking; whether it be flights, hotels or full package holidays.

Once you’ve found your ideal holiday destination, remember you may need travel vaccinations too. If so, you can book your vaccinations here, using our simple online booking process. Or, if you’re looking for a last-minute appointment, give us a call on 020 3432 1381.
