India has been experiencing an extreme heat wave in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana with temperatures reaching as high as 47c. In total there have been over 1300 deaths from sunstroke, dehydration and heat related illness. It has mainly been the poor and vulnerable who have been worst affected, due to lack of shelter and a generally lower level of health. Visitors are advised to re-hydrate themselves regularly, wear a hat and high factor suncream to protect from the sun and take things slowly in such extreme temperatures.
